Convallax

Derivatives Options Prediction market

What is Convallax?

Convallax is a specialized derivatives layer designed specifically for prediction markets. It acts as an infrastructure extension for platforms like Polymarket, enabling users to trade options on the outcomes of events. The project's mission is to provide more sophisticated financial tools to the prediction market ecosystem, allowing users to express complex views on event probabilities or hedge existing positions without directly trading the underlying outcome tokens.

How Does Convallax Work?

Convallax functions by treating prediction market outcomes (which typically trade between $0 and $1) as underlying assets. It introduces a protocol where users can trade European-style calls and puts on these 'YES' prices with fixed strikes and specific expiry dates. The platform utilizes USDC as collateral, ensuring that all derivative contracts are fully backed and settled on-chain through smart contracts that track the implied probability movements of the primary markets.

What Makes Convallax Unique?

Convallax is unique because it bridges the gap between traditional options trading and the prediction market industry. Unlike standard prediction markets where users only bet on binary outcomes, Convallax allows for 'volatility' and 'time-decay' strategies. Key use cases include hedging against sudden probability shifts in high-stakes events (like elections or sports) and leveraging trades on minor probability fluctuations that wouldn't be profitable in a basic prediction market environment.

Who Are the Founders of Convallax?

The project is developed by a team of engineers and DeFi architects who identified a lack of sophisticated risk management tools in the prediction market space. While the founders maintain a focus on decentralized execution, the project is frequently associated with the broader ecosystem of next-generation DeFi startups emerging on high-performance networks like Solana and Ethereum Layer-2s, prioritizing high capital efficiency and low-latency price updates.
