Equium utilizes the security of the Solana blockchain for transactions. Its smart contract has had its minting authority revoked, meaning no new tokens can ever be created outside the programmed 21 million limit.

Equium: Project Guide | Latest Updates, Presale & Airdrop

Q: What is the Purpose of Equium?

The purpose of Equium is to create a scarce, digital currency ecosystem on Solana that uses fair proof-of-work issuance to avoid the inflation and centralization common in VC-backed projects.

Q: How Can I Participate in Equium's Ecosystem?

Users can participate by downloading the open-source miner to earn EQM tokens, providing liquidity on decentralized exchanges like Meteora, or joining the community on X and Discord to contribute to development.

Q: What Sets Equium Apart from Competitors?

Unlike most Solana tokens which are proof-of-stake or pre-minted, Equium uses Equihash PoW, ensuring that 90% of the supply must be 'earned' through computational work, mimicking Bitcoin's distribution.

Q: What are the Risks Associated with Equium?

As an experimental micro-cap project, risks include high price volatility, low liquidity on exchanges, and the potential for technical bugs in the custom mining implementation.

Equium

PoW

Equium ($EQM) is a fair-launch token on Solana with a 21M hard cap and a halving schedule. Supply is produced through Equihash proof-of-work — point a GPU at it and start mining. No presale, no insider allocation, no team unlocks.

What is Equium?

Equium (EQM) is an independent, experimental proof-of-work (PoW) token launched on the Solana blockchain. It distinguishes itself by incorporating Bitcoin-style economics, including a fixed hard cap of 21 million tokens and a periodic halving schedule, while utilizing a memory-bound mining algorithm to maintain decentralization.

How Does Equium Work?

The project operates through the Equihash 96,5 proof-of-work algorithm, which is designed to be CPU/GPU mineable while remaining resistant to specialized ASIC and high-end GPU hardware. New tokens are minted through an on-chain program that runs mining rounds approximately every 60 seconds, where the first participant to submit a valid solution receives the block reward.

What Makes Equium Unique?

Equium is unique for bringing authentic proof-of-work mining to the high-speed Solana ecosystem. Unlike many Solana tokens that are pre-minted, 90% of Equium's supply is earned via mining. Its key features include a fair launch with no team allocation, revoked minting rights to ensure a structural supply cap, and an open-source miner client (HannaPrints) that allows ordinary computer users to participate in the network.

Who Are the Founders of Equium?

The project was launched as a fair-participation community initiative without a traditional corporate structure or public lead founders. It is driven by the open-source repository 'HannaPrints' and a decentralized community of developers and miners who focus on egalitarian token distribution and Bitcoin-inspired scarcity principles.

What Key Events Have There Been for Equium?

Equium successfully completed its fair launch on Solana with the minting authority revoked immediately to secure the 21 million token cap. Significant milestones include the release of its open-source Equihash 96,5 miner and its initial listing on decentralized exchanges like Meteora and Orca, as well as tracking integration on major platforms like MEXC and Bitget.

Project Announcements

Recent updates focus on the optimization of the GPU miner to ensure broader accessibility and the stabilization of the mining difficulty retargeting mechanism, which adjusts every 60 blocks to maintain the one-minute block time target.

Upcoming events

Latest Airdrop

Currently, there are no scheduled airdrops as 90% of the token supply is reserved for miners. Users can 'earn' tokens by participating in the mining process or checking for community-led events on their official social channels.

ICO

None. Equium followed a fair-launch model with no Initial Coin Offering.

IDO

None. The project launched directly via a liquidity pool on Solana DEXs with no private or public seed rounds.

TGE

The Token Generation Event occurred in mid-2024 with the deployment of the Solana SPL contract and the funding of the initial liquidity vault.
