What is Osero?

Osero is an institutional-grade stablecoin yield infrastructure project designed to bridge the gap between traditional finance and decentralized finance (DeFi). It serves as a middle layer that enables fintech platforms, wallets, and exchanges to offer high-quality, stablecoin-based savings products to their users. Incubated by Stablewatch and Soter Labs, the project aims to democratize access to institutional yields that were previously captured primarily by large stablecoin issuers.

How Does Osero Work?

Osero operates as a specialized infrastructure layer that integrates directly with the Sky Ecosystem (formerly MakerDAO) and its Sky Savings Rate (SSR). Technically, it provides an SDK that allows third-party applications to embed yield-generating features with minimal code (approximately 10 lines). The backend infrastructure handles the complex routing of assets, risk management, and capital allocation across various chains, ensuring that deposits are safely directed into audited yield protocols.

What Makes Osero Unique?

Osero is unique for its 'Osero Foundry' and 'Osero Earn' products. Osero Earn focuses on ease of integration for neobanks and custodians, while Osero Foundry is designed for asset managers, offering a massive allocation capacity (up to $2.5 billion) to bring structured yield instruments on-chain. Unlike simple yield aggregators, Osero implements a risk assessment framework inspired by Basel III standards, providing a level of institutional security and regulatory alignment rarely seen in DeFi.

Who Are the Founders of Osero?

Osero was developed and incubated by the teams at Stablewatch (a yield analytics platform) and Soter Labs (an operations provider for the Sky Ecosystem). Key contributors and strategic advisors include industry veterans such as Joe Flanagan (co-founder of Maple Finance) and Lorenzo Romagnoli (co-founder of USDT0). The project is deeply rooted in the Sky/MakerDAO ecosystem, leveraging their expertise in decentralized credit and stablecoin governance.
