What is Ronin EM?

Ronin EM is the European entity of the Ronin Network, a specialized blockchain ecosystem optimized for the gaming industry. Ronin is an Ethereum Layer 2 (L2) blockchain developed to support games with player-owned economies, most notably Axie Infinity. The mission of Ronin EM is to provide a scalable, low-cost environment for developers to launch mass-market Web3 games while ensuring full regulatory compliance within the European Union under the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) framework.

How Does Ronin EM Work?

Ronin EM operates as an Ethereum-aligned Layer 2 solution utilizing the OP Stack technology. It facilitates high-throughput, near-zero-fee transactions, solving the congestion and high cost issues associated with the Ethereum mainnet. The network employs a Delegated Proof of Stake (DPoS) and a unique 'Proof of Distribution' system that rewards builders based on actual network activity such as gas spending, user growth, and DEX volume rather than passive staking.

What Makes Ronin EM Unique?

Ronin EM is unique for its hyper-focus on the gaming sector and its strategic regulatory status in Europe. It is the only blockchain proven to scale a single game to millions of daily active users. Key features include the Katana decentralized exchange for in-game asset liquidity, the Mavis Hub for game discovery, and authorization from CySEC as a Crypto-Asset Service Provider (CASP), making it a trusted institutional partner for regulated operations in all 27 EU member states.

Who Are the Founders of Ronin EM?

Ronin was founded by the Sky Mavis team, led by CEO Trung Nguyen, COO Aleksander Leonard Larsen, and CTO Viet Anh Ho. They are veterans in the blockchain gaming space, having built Axie Infinity.
