What is Petra?

Petra Wallet is a non-custodial wallet in the Aptos ecosystem. It acts as a “gateway” for users to store tokens, collect NFTs, send/receive assets, and connect to Aptos dApps via web, iOS, Android, and a browser extension.

How Does Petra Work?

Petra follows a self-custody model: users control wallet access and transactions, using Petra to sign transactions and interact with dApps on Aptos. Beyond the app/extension, Petra also uses the web.petra.app domain (redirected via Aptos Connect), supporting dApp connections through the updated domain.

Key highlights include: - Ecosystem-first: built by Aptos Labs and optimized for discovering Aptos dApps. - Coinbase Pay integration (fiat on-ramp): makes funding the wallet easier on desktop and mobile. - Petra Vault (multisig): designed for teams/organizations and users who need higher security.
