Yes, Pocket implements several security measures, including protocol audits (e.g., CertiK Skynet score of ~88), an ongoing bug bounty program, and a decentralized consensus mechanism where multiple nodes verify each data relay.

Q: What is the Purpose of Pocket?

The purpose of Pocket Network is to provide a decentralized, censorship-resistant, and cost-effective infrastructure for blockchain and open data access, removing the need for centralized intermediaries.

Q: How Can I Participate in Pocket's Ecosystem?

Users can participate by running a node (Supplier) to earn POKT rewards, staking POKT as a developer (Gateway) to access data, or joining the Pocket DAO to vote on governance proposals.

Q: What Sets Pocket Apart from Competitors?

Unlike competitors like Infura or Alchemy, Pocket is decentralized and permissionless. Its Shannon upgrade further differentiates it by allowing anyone to build a gateway and support non-blockchain data sources like AI models.

Q: What are the Risks Associated with Pocket?

Risks include potential economic imbalances if node sell pressure exceeds network demand, though this is managed by the recent transition to a deflationary tokenomics model (PIP-41).

What is Pocket?

Pocket Network is a decentralized infrastructure protocol (DePIN) that provides reliable, censorship-resistant access to blockchain data for Web3 applications. Its mission is to decentralize the RPC (Remote Procedure Call) layer of the blockchain stack, ensuring that decentralized applications (dApps) do not have to rely on centralized service providers which act as single points of failure.

How Does Pocket Work?

The protocol acts as a middleware data fabric connecting dApps to a global network of independent node operators. When an application needs data from a blockchain, the Pocket Network routes the request to a randomly selected set of nodes. These nodes verify the data, fulfill the request, and are rewarded with the native POKT token for their work, ensuring a trustless and distributed system for data retrieval.

What Makes Pocket Unique?

Pocket is unique for its universal 'open data fabric' approach, supporting over 50 blockchains and extending its utility to AI large language models (LLMs) and Web2 APIs. Key features include its cost-efficient economics, where developers pay a predictable rate for data, and its decentralized governance model (Pocket DAO) which allows users to influence protocol upgrades like the major 'Shannon' transition.

Who Are the Founders of Pocket?

Pocket Network was co-founded in 2017 by Michael O'Rourke and a team including Andrew Nguyen and Luis C. de Leon. Michael O'Rourke, who also serves as the CEO of Grove (formerly Pocket Network Inc.), has a deep background in Ethereum development and was motivated to build Pocket after recognizing the centralization risks inherent in early Web3 infrastructure providers like Infura.

Aktuelle News

What Key Events Have There Been for Pocket?

Recent major milestones include the successful completion of the 'Shannon Upgrade' on June 3, 2025, which transformed the network into a modular, Cosmos-SDK-based universal data fabric. Another significant event was the listing of POKT on Upbit in May 2025, which drastically increased global visibility and liquidity for the token.

Project Announcements

On February 13, 2026, Pocket Network activated the Shannon v1.31 upgrade (PIP-41), implementing a programmable deflation mechanism. The protocol now automatically burns more POKT than it mints per transaction, starting at a 2.5% deflation rate to ensure long-term token scarcity and value accrual.

Bevorstehende Events

Latest Airdrop

The most recent significant airdrop event was the ICON-DI program which distributed POKT to ICON community participants; however, there are currently no major official upcoming airdrops announced for late 2026. Participants are encouraged to monitor the POKT DAO for community-led initiatives.

ICO Time

Pocket Network did not hold a traditional public ICO; instead, it utilized private funding rounds and a 'fair launch' model. Private rounds were completed between 2018 and 2021, raising approximately $21.35 million.

IDO Time

There was no specific IDO (Initial DEX Offering) for POKT; the token was listed directly on centralized and decentralized exchanges following its mainnet launch.

TGE Time

The Token Generation Event (TGE) occurred with the Mainnet launch on July 28, 2020.

Daily Trading Volume

The 24-hour trading volume typically ranges between $500,000 and $1,000,000 USD, though spikes occur during protocol upgrades or new exchange listings.

All-Time High

POKT reached an all-time high of $3.11 on January 12, 2022. It is currently trading significantly lower, reflecting the broader infrastructure market correction.

All-Time Low

The all-time low was approximately $0.0088 recorded in late 2025/early 2026 before the deflationary updates stabilized the market.

Market Cap and Valuation

Market Cap

As of April 2026, the market cap is approximately $25.09 million, ranking it around #747 in the global cryptocurrency market.

Fully Diluted Valuation

The FDV stands at approximately $28.9 million, calculated based on the total supply of 2.4 billion POKT and taking into account the new deflationary burn mechanism.

Pocket Price Prediction

Credible insights from market analysts focus on the 'Shannon' upgrade's ability to drive adoption among AI developers and enterprises. While some algorithmic sites like CoinCodex suggest a neutral to bearish short-term trend for 2026, fundamental analysts point to the 2.5% deflationary burn as a primary driver for potential long-term value recovery, provided that relay volume continues to grow across its 60+ supported chains.
