What is CSFloat?

CSFloat is a premier peer-to-peer (P2P) marketplace and database for Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) skins and virtual items. Originally launched in 2020 as CSGOFloat, the platform has evolved into one of the largest Western marketplaces, facilitating millions of secure trades without the need for traditional bot-based middleman systems.

How Does CSFloat Work?

CSFloat operates using a P2P architecture where items are traded directly between the seller's and buyer's Steam accounts. This eliminates the typical 7-day trade hold associated with depositing items to a bot. The platform uses a specialized browser extension and an automated verification system to ensure that trade offers are sent and received correctly before funds are released from escrow to the seller.

What Makes CSFloat Unique?

Unlike many competitors, CSFloat offers exceptionally low seller fees (starting at 2%) and features the 'Float Appraiser,' a machine-learning tool that predicts fair market prices based on historical data. It also hosts the world's most expansive database of over 1 billion indexed skins, allowing users to track the history, rarity, and 'float value' (wear) of almost any item in the game.

Who Are the Founders of CSFloat?

The platform was founded and is currently operated by Stepan Fedorko-Bartos (known as Step7750) and Ceegan Hale (known as FloatGoat). Both founders are well-regarded experts in the Counter-Strike trading community, having built their reputation by developing open-source tools and detailed technical analyses of skin wear mechanics prior to launching the marketplace.
