Yes, Ink is built using the battle-tested OP Stack and inherits the security of the Ethereum L1. It undergoes regular audits and is managed by the Ink Foundation with institutional oversight.

INKPRINT: Guía del proyecto | Actualizaciones, preventa y airdrop

Q: What is the Purpose of Ink?

The primary goal of Ink is to provide a user-friendly, high-throughput environment for DeFi, bridging the gap between centralized trading tools and decentralized financial protocols.

Q: How Can I Participate in Ink's Ecosystem?

Users can participate by bridging ETH to the Ink network, interacting with DApps like Velodrome and Nado, and participating in ecosystem quests to earn on-chain points.

Q: What Sets Ink Apart from Competitors?

Unlike many L2s, Ink leverages Kraken's deep liquidity and institutional trust while maintaining a fixed-supply, non-governance token model that focuses purely on utility.

Q: What are the Risks Associated with Ink?

Potential risks include the typical vulnerabilities associated with smart contracts and L2 bridge mechanisms, as well as regulatory shifts that could impact its parent entity, Kraken.

What is Ink?

Ink (INK) is a high-performance Ethereum Layer 2 (L2) blockchain incubated by the global cryptocurrency exchange Kraken. Built on Optimism's OP Stack, it is designed to scale decentralized finance (DeFi) by providing a seamless, institutional-grade environment for both retail and professional users. The project’s mission is to unify the centralized exchange (CEX) experience with on-chain innovation, making DeFi accessible to Kraken's millions of users through the Optimism Superchain ecosystem.

How Does Ink Work?

Ink operates as an Optimistic Rollup on Ethereum, utilizing the OP Stack to offer significantly lower transaction fees and faster finality than the Ethereum mainnet. It leverages aggregation and abstraction technologies to simplify the user experience, allowing users to transition between Kraken's centralized services and on-chain decentralized applications (DApps) effortlessly. The network is secured by Ethereum’s underlying layer while benefiting from the interoperability of the Superchain.

What Makes Ink Unique?

Ink distinguishes itself by focusing on a 'utility-first' model that explicitly avoids governance theater; its native token has a fixed supply of 1 billion and is designed for ecosystem incentives rather than voting power. It features native integrations with institutional-grade protocols like Aave (via Tydro) and specialized CLOB DEXs like Nado. Furthermore, its Sybil-resistant airdrop mechanics prioritize genuine user engagement and liquidity provision over speculative farming.

Who Are the Founders of Ink?

Ink was developed and launched by Kraken, one of the world's longest-standing cryptocurrency exchanges. While specific individual executive 'founders' for the L2 are tied to Kraken's leadership, the project is stewarded by the independent, non-profit Ink Foundation. The development team consists of seasoned blockchain engineers and DeFi experts from Kraken’s core infrastructure division, backed by the strategic resources and compliance standards of a major global exchange.

INK Price Prediction

Credible market analyses focus on Ink's potential to capture a significant share of the L2 TVL due to Kraken’s massive user base. Experts suggest that if Ink mirrors the success of Coinbase’s 'Base' chain, its valuation could align with top-tier L2 assets. However, as of now, there are no specific numeric price forecasts from reputable financial publications due to the token's early stage.
