Q: What is the Purpose of Aon?

The primary goal of Aon is to bridge fragmented blockchain networks, enabling a 'network of networks' where data and value move seamlessly between private and public chains.

Q: How Can I Participate in Aon's Ecosystem?

Users can participate by holding AON tokens to pay for transaction fees, staking to help secure the network, or developing Open Apps that utilize the interoperability features of the protocol.

Q: What Sets Aon Apart from Competitors?

Unlike many interoperability projects that focus solely on value transfer, Aon focuses on 'logical interoperability,' allowing smart contracts on different chains to trigger and interact with each other.

Q: What are the Risks Associated with Aon?

Key risks include the high volatility typical of small-cap assets and the dependency on institutional adoption. These are managed through transparent governance and strategic partnerships with regulated firms like Coinbase.

What is Aon?

Aon (OAN) is an open-source public infrastructure designed to enable interoperability between diverse blockchain platforms. Originally launched in 2016 as Aion and later rebranded to The Open Application Network (OAN), its mission is to create a multi-tier blockchain system where users maintain control over their data and applications can operate universally across different networks.

How Does Aon Work?

Aon utilizes a 'hub and spoke' model, where the central hub (Aion-1) connects various 'spoke' blockchains to facilitate cross-chain communication and data transfer. This third-generation blockchain infrastructure uses a unique Proof-of-Stake consensus and bridge mechanisms to secure transactions and allow decentralized applications (Open Apps) to interact across multiple chains simultaneously.

What Makes Aon Unique?

Aon is unique for its focus on 'Open Apps,' which are decentralized applications that can bridge fragmented blockchain ecosystems. It addresses the scalability and privacy issues of traditional blockchains by allowing a private chain to communicate securely with a public chain. Key use cases include cross-border insurance settlements and interoperable supply chain logistics.

Who Are the Founders of Aon?

Aon was founded by Matthew Spoke, who previously led the first blockchain team at Deloitte and founded Nuco, an enterprise blockchain software firm. He was joined by co-founders Ian Chan (COO) and Jinus Tu (CTO). The team possesses extensive expertise in enterprise-grade distributed systems and was instrumental in the early development of the Ethereum ecosystem before launching Aion.
