What is Xoom?

Xoom is a digital money transfer service and subsidiary of PayPal that has recently integrated blockchain technology to enhance cross-border remittances. Its primary mission is to provide a fast, secure, and cost-effective way for users to send funds globally, now leveraging the PayPal USD (PYUSD) stablecoin to bypass traditional banking inefficiencies.

How Does Xoom Work?

Xoom operates as a digital platform where users can send money, pay international bills, and reload mobile phones. In its crypto-integrated model, U.S. users can fund their transfers using PYUSD. The platform converts the stablecoin into the recipient's local fiat currency, which can then be delivered via bank deposit, mobile wallet, or cash pickup in over 160 countries.

What Makes Xoom Unique?

Xoom is unique for bridging the gap between mainstream fintech and Web3. Unlike traditional services that rely on banking hours, Xoom's use of stablecoins like PYUSD allows for 24/7 transaction settlement. A standout feature is the elimination of transaction fees for U.S. users who fund cross-border transfers with PYUSD, significantly reducing the cost of global remittances.

Who Are the Founders of Xoom?

Xoom was founded in 2001 by entrepreneurs Kevin Hartz and Alan Braverman. Kevin Hartz is a well-known figure in the tech industry, having also co-founded Eventbrite and served as an early investor in companies like Airbnb and Pinterest. Alan Braverman, a software developer, was a co-founder of Yammer and Geni.com, bringing extensive expertise in scaling digital platforms.

Xoom Price

Daily Trading Volume

Trading volume for niche tokens labeled 'XOOM' (e.g., on XRPL) is typically low, often under $5,000 daily. PYUSD, the primary asset used by Xoom, maintains high liquidity with daily volumes often exceeding $50 million.

All-Time High

For legacy XOOM tokens on XRPL, the ATH reached approximately $0.18 in late 2024, but prices are highly volatile and liquidity is limited.

Historical lows for niche XOOM tokens vary by exchange but often hit near-zero values during periods of inactivity.

Market Cap and Valuation

Market Cap

Niche XOOM tokens on the XRP Ledger have a negligible market cap, often ranked outside the top 3,000. Xoom as a corporate entity is part of PayPal's multi-billion dollar valuation.

Reliable FDV data for a 'Xoom token' is generally unavailable due to the lack of an officially recognized native token by the PayPal-owned entity.

Xoom Price Prediction

There are currently no available forecasts from reliable experts or reputable financial publications for a native 'Xoom' token, as the project's strategy revolves around stablecoin utility (PYUSD) rather than a speculative asset.
